A little bit about me
Hello, I’m Jo. Therapy has been tremendously transformative in my own life, which eventually led me to train myself. I now feel privileged to offer others what I once received myself — a safe, reflective space within a trusting relationship, in which to grow and change.
How I work
The world can feel like a messed-up place at times, which can be especially hard when it’s at odds with who we are. This comes with a particular flavour if you are a woman, a person of colour, a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, identify as neurodivergent or disabled.
In therapy, we make room for all of it: your history and the wider world that shapes how you feel. I work in a culturally sensitive way that affirms your different identities, whatever they may be.
I also work creatively, so you're welcome to bring a dream, a poem you've written, a piece of art that stayed with you, or anything else that speaks to you.
My experience
I've worked in a range of settings, including Islington Mind, The Listening Place and Rehabit. Today I see private clients for psychodynamic therapy, alongside developing an ecotherapy practice for those drawn to working closer with nature.
My qualifications
Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Counselling, Goldsmiths, University of London
Certificate in Integrative Counselling Skills, CityLit
Getting started
01
Get in touch
Reach out via the contact form and we’ll set up a time to chat about how I might be able to help you.
02
Initial call
We’ll have a brief 15 minute phone call, free of charge, to see if we’re a good fit. You can ask any questions and we can decide together whether therapy is the right step for you.
In the first session, at a time that’s convenient for you, I’ll invite you to share what brings you to therapy. You set the pace and share only what feels right. From there, we'll discuss areas of focus and agree how we'll work together.
